Fans of indie power pop in the vein of Reggie and the Full Effect and The Tattle Tales take notice, Airplane Noise should be right up your alley. New Jersey has a lot of great music coming out of it the past ten years or so and this just adds to that. Five songs are what makes up this EP, clocking in at just over seventeen minutes, every song is a quality tune. It stars off super power pop and finishes up more on the indie rock side of things so you get a lot of the best of both worlds. Head on over to Airplane Noise’s web site to get your indie keyboard infused pop fix because they’re currently giving away this one for free complete with lyrics, liner notes and a some other cool stuff.
‘Go Ahead’ A great opener, I think this pretty much sums out how I’d expect the band to sound like. It’s a catchy damn song, its been getting stuck in my head on and off since the first time I heard it. The ‘go ahead feel sorry for yourself’ will pop in there outta no where.
‘Last Night’ Another catchy pop song, this one has some more meat to it lyric wise than the previous song. I’ve always been a fan of the poppy happy sound mixed with the downer lyrics too.
‘One Cut of Coffee’ The harmonica is featured in this song a lot, and I fucking love it. This song reminds me of some 90′s rock.
‘I Will Always Win’ This song is more indie rock than the rest of the EP, it really doesn’t sound much like the other songs up to this point, but this and the first song are my favorites on here.
‘Goodbye’ Another very indie song, this is actually probably the weakest song on the EP but it’s still very good. Leaves you wanting more.
