I came across the Sandworms when trying to find out what Michelle Shirelle had been up to since the Steinways had broken up. I had hoped she would join another band but I didn’t expect it to be one like this. The Steinways were a pop punk band, normally if one breaks up the members join new ones, Sandworms lean more on late 80’s/early 90’s rock. Normally I would say that as a bad thing, but not in this case. I normally describe these guys to people like a Lemonheads sound if the Lemonheads didn’t suck. Throw some Modernettes in there and I think that’s a fairly accurate description but still not quite right. I find myself listening to this a lot more than I expected to, in fact I can’t remember the last time I listened to a demo this many times. Time To Operate Records has this five song fucking demo up for a mear $4. If you like good catchy rock music do yourself a favor and pick it up.
