Quentin Tarantino jumps genre’s very well, I think he’s proved that with his past few movies and now he takes on westerns with his remake, or yet another sequel of Django. There are so many things I loved about this movie and so few things I didn’t like. Actually I’d say there were only two things I was dissatisfied with, it did drag for a little bit in a couple parts but this is just minutes we’re talking so it’s no giant deal, I just felt like fifteen minutes could have been cut. The other thing was that there was no machine gun in a coffin. But with a movie like this and those being my only two complaints I’d say that’s a giant success. Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson were all ready. Walton Goggins also popped up, I’ve been seeing him in more things since Justified has become a hit and that’s always great because the guy is real good. And Leonardio DiCaprio has once again proven the me of a few years ago wrong because he was also extremely good in this. Everybody did a great job. Franco Nero even had a cameo which is probably my favorite movie cameo since Bill Murray in Zombieland. The violence was of course at an extreme level because that’s just how Quentin Tarantino does things, I was having flashbacks to Robocop it was so nutty. Django Unchained is a very late entry into 2012 but it’s clearly one of the best movies of the year.
